AI for Company Secretaries that cites the section
Ask Niyora answers two kinds of question in one place: what the law says, and what is true of your own clients. Statements of law are retrieved from a verified legal knowledge base and come back with the sections cited, so you can check the answer rather than take it on trust.
- Grounded in the Companies Act 2013 and its Rules, LLP law, SEBI LODR, FEMA, GST and the Secretarial Standards
- Every statement of law carries its source, and an answer the knowledge base cannot back says so in the answer itself
- Ask about your own portfolio - a client’s next filing, its CIN, its recorded board meetings, who has an overdue ADT-1
- Firm data is read-only and scoped to your firm, with column allowlists - the model can never reach another firm’s records
- Works on the phone too, with voice dictation
Two questions, one assistant
Most legal AI answers the law and stops. A Company Secretary spends as much time on "what is true of this client" as on "what does the section say" - so Ask Niyora also carries a read-only tool over your firm’s own database. Clients, compliance deadlines, filings, workflows, drafts, meetings, invoices, tasks and statutory registers are queryable, and firm-data answers are treated as authoritative because they come from your records rather than a model’s memory.
Grounded, and honest when it is not
Answers are retrieved from a knowledge base built from official sources - MCA eBooks for the Companies Act and Rules, CBIC for GST, SEBI for LODR, RBI for FEMA notifications and ICSI for the Secretarial Standards. Where retrieval finds no strong match the answer opens with a plain warning that it is not backed by the verified legal database and should be cross-checked, rather than presenting recall as citation.
Remember this for me
Say "paid ₹2,500 courier for Acme, remember" and Niyora captures it as a structured note - amount, client, date - which you confirm later at a desk. Nothing is written until you have read back what was understood, because a mis-heard amount is the expected failure, not an edge case.
What this does not do
- Niyora assists a qualified professional. It is not legal advice, and every output should be reviewed before you rely on it or file it.
- Section-level deep links are not available for the Companies Act: MCA publishes it as an eBook viewer with no per-section URLs, so citations link to the Act or Rules rather than the exact section.
- SEBI SAST, SEBI PIT and the IBC are not in the verified knowledge base today. Questions on those are answered from training memory, with the unverified-source warning.
Questions firms ask
How do I know the AI is not making the law up?+
Statements of law are retrieved from a knowledge base built from official portals, and the answer carries the sources it used. Where retrieval finds nothing strong enough, the answer tells you so instead of citing something it never read.
Can it answer questions about my own clients?+
Yes. Ask Niyora can query your firm’s own records read-only - deadlines, filings, registers, meetings, invoices and more - scoped to your firm and to the clients your role can see.
Does our client data train the model?+
No. The AI providers Niyora uses do not train on data sent through their APIs. That is separate from their own abuse-monitoring retention, which is described on the Sub-processors page.
